Slanguage is developed and operated by SwipeUp Labs (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the Slanguage mobile application (“Slanguage” or the “App”), why it is processed, which service providers are involved, and the choices available to you.
When you use Slanguage’s translation, contextual-language, slang, or tone features, the text you enter is transmitted over an encrypted connection to the Slanguage backend. The Slanguage backend then forwards the translation text, together with the necessary language, locale, and tone-related information, to Google Gemini, a third-party AI service, for AI processing. Google Gemini generates the translation result, which is returned through the Slanguage backend to your App.
As part of the normal translation workflow, Slanguage does not intentionally persist your translation input or generated translation result in Slanguage’s own cloud database.
Some requests may use Google Search grounding to improve context or current-information handling. Google states that, when Grounding with Google Search is used, prompts, contextual information, and generated output are stored by Google for 30 days for purposes related to grounded results, search suggestions, debugging, and testing. Google’s retention and use of data in connection with the Gemini API and Google Search Grounding are governed by Google’s then-applicable Gemini API Terms and privacy documentation.
Slanguage does not require you to register with your name, email address, or password. However, the App and its service providers may generate and process anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers needed to operate the service, such as a Firebase Anonymous Authentication UID, Firebase installation or Crashlytics installation identifiers, and a RevenueCat App User ID.
To provide free usage limits, trial access, prevent abuse, and keep service state synchronized, Slanguage may process information such as translation usage counts, daily quota state, trial status, paywall state, and related technical service-state data. This information may be associated with an anonymous App identifier.
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play and are managed with RevenueCat. We may process subscription-related information such as product identifiers, entitlement status, subscription status, transaction or receipt-related information made available by the platform or RevenueCat, and purchase history necessary to validate and restore Premium access.
We do not receive or store your full payment card number, bank account number, or other payment credentials entered into Apple App Store or Google Play.
In release versions of the App, Firebase Crashlytics may receive crash reports and selected non-fatal diagnostic events. These may include stack traces, error categories, network or API error information, HTTP status codes, App version/build information, operating system and device metadata, installation identifiers, locale or feature metadata, and selected timing measurements used to diagnose unusually slow translation requests.
Our diagnostic implementation is designed not to intentionally include your translation input, translation result, email address, Firebase user UID, RevenueCat customer identifier, subscription receipt, or purchase token in Crashlytics diagnostic context.
Slanguage stores your translation history locally on your device. This local history may include: translation input, translation result, source and target languages, tone, and timestamps.
Local translation history is not synchronized to the Slanguage cloud.
You may delete individual history entries, use the in-app “Clear Translation History” option, clear App data on supported platforms, or uninstall the App. Local history remains on your device until you delete it, clear App data, or remove the App.
This only occurs when you actively submit a report on the translation result screen.
If you choose to report a translation issue from the result screen, Slanguage may send: the current translation input, translation result, error or report category, any description you voluntarily provide, target language, timestamp, App version and build, and the iOS or Android platform. These reports are delivered to the Slanguage team through Google Forms and Google Workspace, and are used solely to: process that specific report, improve Slanguage translation quality, and debug related issues.
If you contact Slanguage voluntarily by email, the App may prefill: App version information and general device information, together with any content or attachments you choose to include. The email is actively sent from your own mail client.
Each third-party provider processes data under its own terms and privacy practices. We provide or permit access only to information reasonably necessary to operate the relevant feature.
Based on the current version of Slanguage, we do not use the information described above for third-party advertising, and we do not use it to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for targeted advertising or advertising measurement. In the current version, Slanguage does not use Advertising ID, AdMob, Firebase Analytics, or cross-app tracking.
We use industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption for data transmitted between the App and supported online services. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Slanguage does not intentionally persist normal translation input or generated translation results in Slanguage’s own cloud database.
Translation history is stored locally on your device until you delete individual entries, clear translation history in the App, clear App data on a supported platform, or uninstall the App.
Your AI processing consent status is stored locally on your device. It remains on the device until App data is removed or the consent requirement is materially updated in a future version.
Translation error reports that you actively submit may be stored in Google Forms / Google Workspace for as long as reasonably necessary for operations and issue resolution, and in accordance with Google’s applicable policies. If you would like Slanguage to delete reasonably identifiable report data, please contact us using the email in Section 9.
Anonymous identifiers, usage and quota state, subscription information, and diagnostic records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, prevent abuse, validate purchases, diagnose technical problems, and comply with legal obligations, and are also subject to the applicable retention practices and policies of our third-party service providers. As noted above, data associated with Google Search Grounding is stated by Google to be stored for 30 days; Google’s retention and use of Gemini API and Search Grounding data are governed by Google’s then-applicable terms and documentation.
You may clear locally stored App data using available App or device controls. You may manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple or Google account settings. To request deletion of data that Slanguage controls and that can reasonably be identified from your request, contact us at the email in Section 9. Because Slanguage primarily uses anonymous identifiers, we may need information reasonably necessary to locate the relevant record, and in some cases a record may not be technically linkable to you.
Before you send a translation for the first time, Slanguage shows you a “Translation & Data Processing” notice. This notice explains that your translation text will be transmitted through the Slanguage backend to Google Gemini, a third-party AI service.
You may choose either:
Your consent choice is stored locally on your device. If material changes are made to how we process data in the future, Slanguage may ask for your consent again.
To withdraw your AI processing consent choice today, you may clear App data on supported platforms, or uninstall and reinstall the App. There is currently no dedicated in-app button to revoke AI consent separately. For questions or deletion requests regarding other data that Slanguage controls, please use the contact information in Section 9.
You may also, at any time, choose not to submit text for AI processing by not using the translation features, stop using the App, clear local App data, and manage your subscription through the applicable platform.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, service providers, legal requirements, or data practices. We will update the “Last Updated” date when we make changes. Material changes may also be communicated in the App where appropriate.
